Industrial Meadow

Wildlife requires a variety of habitats to thrive, which is critical to their survival in an urban setting such as ours. Early in the design process, we decided to give wildlife and their habitat priority. The first step was to create over 150 acres of interconnected warm-season grass meadows and savannah for them to call home. The trails and art installations give you the chance to see different wildlife at different times of the year.

Meadowlark cry out in the summer, rutting deer prance on ridgelines in the fall, tiny footprints of mice and voles make themselves visible in the winter along with the falcons, hawks, and eagles who come to stay fat in the toughest months. Then in the spring, the neotropical migrators such as blue grosbeaks, indigo buntings, and warblers join in the mix.
