THE VISTA CONSTRUCTION IS UNDERWAY!
Formerly known as the Event Center, The Vista is soon to be an amazing addition to Origin Park. The 14,000 square foot building is designed to bring the community together. The surrounding garden spaces will become an “in-demand” venue for our community, allowing us to gather and celebrate on the Ohio River like never before.

The Vista will open in 2026 as the hub of Origin Park.
As the design process commenced, we were struck by the view of the Ohio River from this vantage point.
We selected the top of the bluff, looking downstream, to be the location for weddings, corporate events, and even intimate concerts.
The Vista at Origin Park Continues to Take Shape!
Exciting progress is underway at The Vista at Origin Park as our future event venue continues moving through its construction milestones. With each passing week, the vision of a nature-forward, community-centered gathering space becomes more tangible, and we’re thrilled to share the latest updates with you.
Structural framing is now well underway, giving the building its recognizable profile and allowing our team to refine interior layouts, circulation paths, and the panoramic viewpoints that will define The Vista experience. Large portions of the facility’s exterior are beginning to take shape, making it easier than ever to envision weddings, corporate retreats, concerts, and community celebrations overlooking the river and surrounding greenspace.
Inside the structure, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work has begun, laying the foundation for a high-functioning, flexible venue that can support everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions. Coordination with our partners at Starlight Designs is also in progress as we finalize interior finish selections that align with Origin Park’s natural aesthetic.
Meanwhile, site development continues around the building footprint. The outdoor event lawn, paths, and trail connections are being prepared to integrate seamlessly with Origin Park’s broader trail network, ensuring that The Vista isn’t just a venue, but an extension of the park’s mission to connect people with nature.
As construction continues into the coming months, we look forward to sharing more updates, milestones, and behind-the-scenes progress. The Vista remains on schedule for its May 2026 opening, and we cannot wait to welcome guests, partners, and the community into this transformative new space.
Stay tuned for more progress reports, photos, and announcements as we bring The Vista to life.

The Vista
Groundbreaking Event
On November 14th, 2024, stakeholders from both local and state levels joined the River Heritage Conservancy board and staff to celebrate a historic event for Origin Park; the groundbreaking of the 14,000 square-foot event center.
The Vista will reflect the splendor of its natural surroundings and will feature gardens that will highlight the Ohio River's beauty. "It will be a gathering site for the community, a space for events and gatherings," said Dennis Schnurbusch II, CEO of River Heritage Conservancy.
The Vista construction costs are expected to range between $17 and $18 million, with a projected completion date in the first quarter of 2026.
This transformative project has been made possible through the generous support of donors such as The Ogle Foundation, Blue Sky Foundation, The Bales Foundation, First Harrison Bank, First Savings Bank, and over $3 million provided by the State of Indiana through a READI Grant, which helped kickstart the initiative, along with other generous individuals.
