PARK RULES

Enjoying the Park

1. Park Hours: Visit during open hours from dawn to dusk unless otherwise posted.

2. Be Considerate: Create a welcoming atmosphere, be courteous to fellow visitors.

3. Keep It Peaceful: Enjoy music and sounds at appropriate levels with respect to others.

Staying Safe

4.  Watch Over Young Explorers: Children are safest when accompanied by an adult.

5.  Park Access: For everyone’s safety, please use motorized vehicles only in designated areas. Motorized vehicles must meet legal requirements under Indiana’s vehicle code.

6. Parking:  Please, park in designated areas only.

7.  Follow Posted Guidelines: Some areas may have specific rules. Observe posted signs for a safe and enjoyable experience.

8.  Drinking Water: Drinking water should only be taken from fountains, hydrants or pumps provided for that purpose.

Protecting Nature

9.    Stick to the Trails:  Help us protect wildlife and plants by staying on marked paths.

10.   Carry In, Carry Out:  Keep the park beautiful by taking all trash with you.

11. Observe Wildlife Naturally:  To support natural habitats, enjoy watching animals without feeding them.

12.   Leave Nature as You Found It: Let plants, rocks, and natural treasures stay where they are.

13.   Protect Restoration Zones:  Enjoy marked areas from a distance to help our habitats thrive.

Visiting with Pets

14.    Leash Up for Fun:  Pets are welcome on a leash no longer than six feet.

15.   Pet Clean-Up:  Pet waste transmits disease. Please clean up after your pet.

Recreation and Activities

16.   Safe Use of Fire:  Fires and grills are permitted only in designated areas where posted.

17.   Fireworks:  No unauthorized use of fireworks.

18.   Substance-Free Enjoyment:  For a family-friendly environment, alcohol and drugs are not allowed in the park.

19.   Safe Spaces: For everyone’s safety, weapons and firearms are prohibited unless permitted by law. Unauthorized hunting and trapping activities are not permitted.

20.   Respect Our Spaces: Please, no graffiti, dumping, or damage to property. 

21. Designated Outdoor Activities: Fishing is welcome in approved areas with the proper permits.

22. Drone-Free Zone: Drones are only allowed with written consent or as part of official park operations.

23. Metal Detecting and Digging: Unauthorized metal detecting or digging is not allowed.

24. Camping: Camping and overnight parking are prohibited.

25. Trail Use: Trails are for foot traffic only unless otherwise designated.

26. Ohio River Greenway: Kindly obey all Ohio River Greenway regulations.

Events and Special Activities

27.    Plan Ahead for Events: Large gatherings, photography, or formal activities will require prior approval and appropriate permits.

28.  Authorized Vendors Only: Commercial activities need pre-approval and appropriate permits to ensure they align with the park’s mission.

29. Solicitation: Please do not solicit or post signs.
